Tribeca Drive In at Rockefeller Center (sans cars)













This sounds amazing! The first movie I saw at the drive-in was Howard The Duck, with my mom in 1986. She let me sit on the hood of the car on a blanket, and I watched all the people around me, also sitting on top of their cars, more than I watched that actual movie! We don't have to miss out on new memories like this one just because we're city slickers! Check out this amazing event, put on by the Tribeca Film Festival:
The Nostagia of the Drive-In
Don’t miss the Tribeca Drive-In™ at
Rockefeller Center, June 19-22. Immerse yourself in the nostalgia of the summer drive-in as special screenings return to midtown Manhattan for the fourth consecutive year. Tribeca Enterprises has partnered with Rockefeller Center to bring a fun selection of movies to the massive 30' x 50' screen in front of 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

Tribeca Drive-In™ at Rockefeller Center
Seating for the event will open at 6:00pm daily and the movies will begin at 9:00pm. Cast and filmmakers alike will be on hand to introduce the films. Admission is free, but seats are limited. Screenings will take place rain or shine. Please enter at 49th Street. Sponsors include Dodge and In Style Magazine.


Tribeca Drive-In Short Film Series at Top of the Rock™
This year, the summer series will also include a short film showcase, the Tribeca Drive-In Short Film Series at Top of the Rock™ sponsored by Nintendo World™ featuring short films from TFF '07. Additionally, the three top selections from the
Nintendo Short Cuts Showcase - short films containing a Nintendo® theme - were created by aspiring filmmakers and chosen as winners in contest by a panel of judges. Both the Tribeca Drive-In Short Film Series™ and the Nintendo Short Cuts Showcase will be presented in a continuous loop at the famous Weather Room at Top of the Rock during the four-day event from 8:30AM - midnight. Regular Top of The Rock admission prices apply.
